B#9802 Printer Hangs Waiting for Manual Feed

PROBLEM

When printing from IslandWrite 5.0 or 6.0, the printer hangs and doesn't print. The printer is expecting manual paper feed, even though the manual feed option is not set in the Print dialog box.

This has been logged as:

B#9802 Print dialog: Manual Feed toggle is backwards

This bug only affects printers which allow the manual feed option.

WORKAROUND

The workaround is to set the Manual Feed toggle so that IslandWrite will not send the Manual Feed request.

Choose File>Print to bring up the Print dialog
Choose '+' in the Print dialog's lower right-hand corner to open up the other half of the dialog box.
Choose the Printer Make for your printer, e.g. SparcPrinter.
Set the Manual Feed toggle.

You may wish to create a Printer Setup for printers experiencing these problems. Printer Setups allow you to save a set Print dialog settings. In your new printer setup, make sure to set the Manual Feed toggle.
